Welcome!
The Cleveland
Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is a local group
connected with a national organization of organists and lovers
of the organ and organ music.
Locally
we are a group of about 200 members. We publish a monthly
newsletter with listings of programs and jobs available in
local churches. Members receive a national monthly magazine.
We have monthly meetings, usually concerts or classes. We
sponsor a biennial competition for young organists and award
scholarships annually for the study of organ. We administer
tests leading to certification in by national AGO.
We are
excited about some local events coming up in the near future
for our chapter. We are sponsoring The
World's Largest Organ Concert on October 8, 2000 in
conjunction with chapters around the country. We are very
much looking forward to the opening of the restored Severance
Hall organ in 2001 and plan to announce soon an organ crawl
for our members.
We look
forward to 2003 when we will be hosting a regional convention
of the AGO in Cleveland. Watch for updates on these events
on this site.
Take advantage
of the information on our web site. Join us at a meeting.
Become a member if you play the "King of Instruments"
or just love organ music.
Sincerely,
Fern Jennings
