Monday, February 26, 2001, 7:30 PM. Viva Italia! Christopher Stembridge, organ, on the Italian organ by Gerhard Hradetzky and Italian harpsichord by Willard Martin of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This harpsichord, on loan from the builder, has been known some four hundred years ago as ñcembalo chromatico.î It has 19 keys to the octave and makes the music of the ñcinquecento et seicentoî (16- and 17-cent.) come to life in a very special way. Mr. Willard will be on hand to answer any questions. Mr. Stembridge has been a lecturer at the University of Cork (Ireland) and is currently teaching at the School of Church Music in Brescia, Italy, giving master classes on Italian keyboard music of the Renaissance and early baroque throughout the world. St. PaulÍs Episcopal Church of Cleveland Heights. Open to the public; free of charge. Wine and cheese reception follows.
